AA Rosette Award
The AA Rosette Award scheme assesses restaurants for the quality of their food. Annual awards, on a rising scale of one to five, are made solely on the basis of meal visits by the AA's highly trained inspectors.
Rissons has been awarded a Rosette award every year since 2002. To receive this award ‘Chefs should display a mastery of basic techniques and be able to produce dishes of sound quality and clarity of flavours, using good, fresh ingredients’ - The AA
3 AA Stars
From 2006, the AA have replaced the previous Diamonds rating for guest accomodation with Stars.
To qualify for three stars an establishment must offer - ‘A friendly welcome and good-quality, well-presented beds and furniture. A choice of good-quality, freshly cooked food is available at breakfast.’ - The AA
Visit Scotland (previously named the The Scottish Tourist Board) employ a five-level star-grading system. Their stars are awarded based on the standard of customer care and range of facilities on offer at establishments.
